A few Milestones!
We have a few new milestones to report...
Lucy can now pull herself up! (12.13.09) Once she's up she seems to be confused/scared on what she is suppose to do, but I know it is only a matter of time before she is on the move!
And today, December 15th, Lucy's first tooth came in! (Or a tiny bit started to!) She's almost 8 months, so she was due, but I kept thinking she would start to drool or fuss when it was about to pop through. She proved me wrong - NOTHING! Not one drop of drool. (and not fussy either) Hopefully, the rest of her teeth are just as easy!
I'm a little sad to see the toothless smile disappear, but I know it has to happen! She is so fun right now! I can't wait to see her personality develop as she becomes more of a toddler!

It's beginning to look alot like Christmas!
I've been pretty busy the last few weeks, shopping for Christmas (which is not as easy with a baby), some work projects (my favorite co-worker left last week! ::tear::), Christmas parties, Christmas cards...the list goes on an on...but we have been enjoying every minute with Lucy. She is getting such a fun personality.
Here are a few things she's been up to...
I decided to enroll her in a 4-class swim session at the Peoria Riverplex. They have a really awesome facility and a warm water pool for the baby class! (it is basically bath water - I think last class it was 96 degrees!) Anyhow, other than the fact I have to get myself in a swimsuit in December - it is going great! Lucy loves all the fun songs we sing and is really getting into splashing in the water. We have been working on counting to 3 and then sprinkling water on her head during bathtime - which is suppose to "train" them to hold their breath. She has been a pro at it so the teacher thought she was ready for a dip in the pool (head underwater and all). She did great!
And how cute is she in her little swimsuit! :)
Lucy has seen Santa three times this season. The first time was at the beginning of November at the Holiday Walk I planned for work. Santa didn't even phase her...
The second time we saw Santa we were at the mall and apparently Santa didn't have anyone to talk to so he was soliciting children to take pictures outside. I of course had my camera on hand so we took a quick snapshot. She did okay, but wasn't super excited to see him.
The last time was last week at a Storytime with Santa at my work again. Needless to say, Lucy's shirt lies. She does NOT love Santa! :)

She's up!
Last night as Marcus and I were putting up our Christmas tree Lucy was on the floor playing with ornaments. Apparently, she decided the ornaments weren't that fun (at least not the ones we gave her to play with) so she decided to show off a bit.

Thanksgiving
I know I am behind with blogging and photos (I'm sorry), but that is what this time of year brings right? Here are a few photos from Thanksgiving. We were in Decatur for Thanksgiving Day and then a few days later back in Peoria for the Elasser/Rapp Thanksgiving!

I have some great 6 months photos from my dear friend Makaya, but some of them are going on Christmas Cards, so you'll have to wait for that post. Here are a few pictures that I got taken at the local Portrait Innovations. I wanted to get a couple pictures of her with all her cute chubs, and with the weather, it wasn't going to happen outside, so Portrait Innovations was the only option. I thought they actually turned out pretty cute.

Congrats to the happy couple!
We just got back from our friends Marisa and Eric's fabulous wedding this morning. Marisa and Eric are loyal blog fans, so Lucy told me she wanted to congratulate the new Mr. & Mrs. herself. Marisa & Eric - think of this as a big wet juicy kiss from Miss Lucy! Every . single . detail of the night was fabulous! We had a great time and are so happy for you both! Safe and happy travels down under!

Halloween Preview 2009
Drum roll please. Here she is..."The Goose" as "A Goose"
Minus the fact Lucy isn't into candy this year :) we have a University of Illinois Football game on Halloween. With that in mind, we probably won't make it trick-or-treating, but I wanted to post a picture so everyone can see Lucy's costume. Isn't she the cutest goose you've ever seen?

Ackerman Farms 2009
We just got back from the pumpkin patch. Lucy was not handing out the smiles like she normally does, but it was still a great time. I can't wait to take these pictures each year and document how much she has grown. It is crazy to think that next year it will be hard to keep her in one spot long enough to get a picture :)

We have a roller...and a talker
She's been rolling for a month now, but this weekend she realized she can do it whenever she pleases. Back to tummy, tummy to back, and back to tummy...over and over and over again. The video below is the first one I got of her rolling..she was a bit camera shy for a while.

Another U of I game (er...tailgate) down.
This weekend we headed down to the second U of I game of the season. It was a bit cold and misty for the babies (Lucy and her cousin Maggie) to go to the game, but we did manage to get a little bit of tailgating in. Then Erin and I went shopping with the babies during the game...seems as if we didn't miss much...

A long few weeks...
Sorry for the delay in postings. We've had a busy few weeks. The weekend before last was the ever exciting Morton Pumpkin Festival. We walked to the Festival on Wednesday and Friday nights (we can see the big slide from our front door) to have dinner and then watched the Parade on Saturday morning. Anyone who knows this town knows (for some strange reason) this is the festival of the year around these parts! (And if you ever want to come to the parade - you can have a VIP spot in our driveway - it is PRIME parking for the parade). Then on Saturday night we went to Marcus' 10 year class reunion followed by a bunch of friends coming over Saturday night for some Rockband. A long week/weekend...but lots of fun.

Okay, this was the best part of the parade. These little kids were being pulled by a tractor (they were reindeers if you can see the signs on the individual carts). Well obviously it was the last two kids naptime. Can you see the little boy with his head straight down in the second to last cart - and the little girl alseep to the side in the last one? So cute...and so funny.
This is Darcy and one of her girls. Darcy is Lucy's babysitter when I go to work. They walked in the parade...aren't they the cutest?

Then this past Wednesday I started feeling sick and Lucy followed the trend. At about 6pm she had a fever of 101.1 and our doctors nurse line wanted us to go to the ER to have it checked out. We ended up getting to the hospital ER around 7pm and after a full work up blood, urine, and a chest x-ray (which may be the absolute worst thing I've ever seen done to a newborn - they swear it doesn't hurt them - but oh does it look uncomfortable) they came to the conclusion that she just had a viral infection. We gave Tylenol but nothing would bring down her now 102.5 fever. We left at 2am. Ugh. I realize with all the different flu's and nasty stuff out there they just wanted to be on the cautious side - but man was it a long hard night. It also happened to be one of those nights where the ER was a zoo! We went to the doctor on Thursday morning - where she still had the 102.5 fever - and he thought it was just viral too. Thankfully the fever finally broke on Thursday afternoon, and she is on the mend. She definitely was not herself, but even as a sick baby, she wasn't too bad, she really is as sweet as they come.
Here is a picture of the contraption they put her in to take the x-ray...she was not as content as this young lad.....imagine her screaming bloody murder...then multiply it by 100. That is how bad it was....she also stuck her poor head out of that opening as far as she could, which did not help in taking the xray....crossing our fingers we never have to do that again.
On Saturday we went to Decatur for a wedding and stayed at Nana and Poppy's house and on our way home on Sunday stopped in Bloomington to have lunch with Aunt Margaret and Uncle Lew who were in town on their way back from Colorado. They saw her at the beginning of August - but where surprised at how much she has changed in two months! :)
Oh, and I can't forget to wish our sweet Lucy - Happy Five Months today! Boy, is this going fast!

Lucy's first U of I game!
I'm off to bed, but wanted to post a few pictures of Lucy's first U of I football game. It was a great day and the most perfect weather. Guessing this may be one of the few games Lucy will be able to go to due to the weather.
