Introducing...Lucy Mae Jacoby Rapp

She is finally here! Lucy Mae Jacoby Rapp decided she was ready to enter the world on Tuesday, April 28th, 2009 at 10:53 a.m.

Falling just short of the "Jacoby tradition" of 9 lb.+ babies...she clocked in at 8 lbs 12.6 oz and 19 inches long.

She did decide to come out "sunny side up" so she is struggling with a bruised little head and a bit of jaundice, but other than that, she is perfect and healthy in every way. She has a full hair of brown hair. At first we thought there was a slight tint of red, but now it looks a little more blond than red. We will just have to see what color it decides to be! She also has big blue beautiful eyes!

We are expecting to go home sometime tomorrow, and will keep you posted with updates and pictures.

She has already met Aunt Makaya - and had her first photo session. Next time we will see if we can get her to open her eyes!

The Nursery!

With two days to go until my due date the Nursery is finally done! (I still want to get a different rug and a few other things, but other than that - it is ready to go!)

Also, Lucy isn't definitive yet, but I made the letters for the room anyhow. I figure if it ends up not being Lucy, it was good practice! I'm a pro now.

Check back - when she finally decides to come - we will post pictures here first!

Almost 39 weeks!

I had a doctor's appointment today and we are finally starting to see a little bit of "progress!" This little girl might actually decide to come on her own. Other than that bit of "progress" I don't have much to report. I am still working full-time and I am very thankful that I have had a really easy pregnancy - I'm not even that uncomfortable at this point!

The doctor did say that he doesn't like anyone going much past a week overdue - so he basically told me that if this little girl decides not to come on her own - they will think about inducing me in the later part of the first week of May. (May 6th-8th). That certainly would be a nice early Mother's Day present!

We will keep you posted!

36 week check-up

Today we had our 36 week check-up. Everything normal and on track! We had an ultrasound and the doctor estimated her current weight at around 6.5 pounds (although it can be slightly bigger or smaller). He thought she may be around 8 pounds when she is born.

The ultrasound pictures were not as exciting as previous ones, as there isn't as much room for her to maneuver around in there anymore. You just can't see as much! We got one quick image of her face but she quickly turned her head and put her fist in front of it. She is camera shy already!

I have been working extra hard at getting all my work projects completed before her arrival. I can't believe she could be here at any moment! (Although I have a feeling she is going to take her time) I still have a few big things to complete at work and at home - so she better hold off for a bit! My boss and his family will be gone on vacation for 3 weeks of my maternity leave, so hopefully that will make it a little easier when I return.

We are waiting to decide on a name for sure until she is born, but currently our number one pick is Lucy. We do however need to work on a middle name. Any suggestions are appreciated! :)
