Well we made it back from Hilton Head safe and sound! It was a great week! Lucy loves the baby pool (still a little scared of the big pool) and the beach! Our resort also has a lagoon full of fish and turtles and I know one of her favorite things was getting to feed the turtles! Here is a link to my Hilton Head photos I put on facebook...

This past weekend, we ended up making last minute plans to go see my friends new baby boy - Owen. He is so perfect! It is crazy to think I'll have a little baby like that in a few weeks! We also were able to attend another friend's barbecue that night and Lucy had a great time playing with all the kids. I was great to catch up with a bunch of our friends too! Yesterday, however, (Sunday) she must have been having friend withdrawal. (Playing with Mom and Dad just wasn't cutting it.)
This was our conversation all day long.....
"Let's go Mommy, lets go, to Lexie and Reid's house - okay?" - Lucy
"Honey, they aren't home today" - Me
"Okay then lets go to Peepaws - okay?" - Lucy
"Honey, they are on vacation" - Me
"Why?" - Lucy
"Because they wanted to get away from home for a while." - Me
"Okay, can Maggie play?" - Lucy
"We can't see Maggie today, they live in Bloomington" - Me
"Then lets go - Kayci, Lanie and Shebly house - okay?" - Lucy
etc, etc, etc....
In baby news, we are less than 10 weeks away! You know you are getting close when the expiration date on food is close to your due date! Today I noticed my organic milk had an expiration date of Sept 13th! Just two weeks before I'm due! Wowsers!
Other than that we have been spending a lot of time inside! What a bummer! It is just way too hot to be outside! Even the pool isn't cool enough!

Here comes the sun! (27 weeks)
Just a quick update before we head out on vacation to Hilton Head! This week we've been busy getting ready for the trip and Marcus has had a super busy week at work - so we are ready to get on that airplane! Lucy is also excited about the "hair-pane." We've kept her favorite show away from her this week (Care Bears) in hopes that when we turn it on - it will make for a smooth/easy trip! We also have a few "oohh-e-oh's" (aka Oreos) packed so we should be set for the flight! :)
We are looking forward to a fun week of the beach, pool and a little bit (okay probably a lot) of craziness with the cousins, Maggie and Lucas.
In pregnancy related news, there isn't much to report, thankfully. I'm starting to definitely "feel" more pregnant - and getting a good nights rest is getting harder and harder. I know I need to be thankful for what I have now - especially since once the baby comes and Lucy gets up at her normal 6:30 a.m. time - I will want this back!
My one pregnancy complaint at this point would be the heartburn. Geesh! I had it fairly bad with Lucy towards the end, but I don't think it was this early or this severe! Good thing I know it is worth it in the end! This baby must be sitting directly on my stomach or it has a full head of (red?) hair!

Beginning of Summer and 24 weeks
Hello Summer! First off, let me say how much I LOVE the summer. Most people prefer Spring or Fall, not me, bring on the heat - I am a June baby after all! :) (and still in my 20's for a few more days - I should mention!)
I love the summer even when it's hot - and boy was the beginning of this week hot! Lucy and I started the week out right with a few pool days, but I quickly realized that I need to spread it out, as she gets exhausted easily and an overly tired cranky toddler is no fun. It doesn't help that the pool doesn't open until 1pm - right smack in the middle of nap time! They do have a toddler time in the morning for a few hours, but it is in the middle of the "big kids" swim lessons, so every "little brother" and "little sister" who aren't old enough to be in swim lessons are crowding the toddler area and it's crazy and stressful (especially for me).
Yesterday (and today) my parents came to help put together a new present for Lucy - her own Playhouse! I LOVED my playhouse growing up, and based on her squeals tonight after seeing/playing in the finished product, I know she will too! :) We still have the "kitchen" to install inside, but it's pretty much completed. Isn't it adorable?
She's even more adorable though...
Yesterday night we also made our annual trip to the Tremont Turkeyfest to get Turkey sandwiches and Strawberry Shortcakes. Yum! We ran into Grandpa Rapp at Marcus's grandma's house in Tremont and enjoyed our food while sitting out on the back porch. It was perfect weather and a fun Friday night!
Today I am 24 weeks pregnant and while I know I've said how much I love summer, I am reserving the right to change my mind in a few weeks! I'm feeling great currently, but I know how quickly you start to really feel pregnant, so once that hits I might not love the heat and humidity as much! I'm guessing my feet won't either!
Before I was even pregnant, a cute little childrens boutique was closing in Morton and the lady who owned it was getting rid of everything at great prices. They had a floor sample of some bedding that I LOVED when I was pregnant with Lucy, but back then I wasn't willing to pay full price for it. Well, the last day she was open I went in and saw it and asked if she was selling it and she gave me and AWESOME deal. It's pretty gender neutral (but a little more girlie) so it is perfect now that we are having another girl! :) So, a few weeks ago we painted the nursery to match the new bedding and now we just need to move Lucy to her "big girl" room! We have a twin bed ready for her new room, but she goes to sleep so easily (it's taken us a while to get to this point) that I hate to change it up on her now. Maybe in a few weeks...when I'm having a hard time sleeping anyhow :)

Lucy's 2nd Birthday Party
I just realized I forgot to post about Lucy's birthday party! We did a small party this year and were happy to have grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins at the party! I think Lucy's favorite part was going on wagon rides with her cousins!

It is still hard for me to believe that she is two years old! Right around her birthday she had a few "milestones" - (1) her canine teeth started coming in - and (2) she finally started calling Marcus "Dad." For those of you who don't know at some point she started calling both Marcus and I "Mommy." Occasionally, he gets a "Mommy-Dad" - but most of the time it is just "Dad" now. Personally, I kinda miss hearing her call him "mommy" but he obviously he prefers "Dad."
She has also started putting lots of words together over the last few weeks. She's been saying a few words for a while now, but all the sudden for her to be saying sentences - is just amazing. The other day she pointed to my computer and said "Mommy's 'puter you sit" and once I sat said "ok, thank you Mommy." (immediately followed with "ur welcome")
P.S. We are still working on when to say the "your welcome" part - but we'll get there! :)

Big Sister Book
Lucy has a book titled "The Big Sister Book." For a number of weeks we've been asking her - "Do you want a brother or a sister?" Her response for a long time was "SISTER!" (although she now yells "SISTER BOOK" so we realize she is really just excited about the book) But the point is -

A brother or sister for Lucy...
Tomorrow we hopefully will find out if Lucy is getting a baby brother or baby sister! We debated quite a while, trying to decide if we would find out the gender of this baby, but in the end we decided to find out. It would have been really hard for me, but I think near impossible for Marcus to wait. So, we'll let you know tomorrow! (if he/she cooperates!)
Just for the record, if we had to guess, Marcus and I both are guessing - girl. I say that because my pregnancy has been very similar to Lucy's - but I wouldn't be shocked if I was wrong! Regardless, we just want a healthy baby!
