Well we are getting close to the big 1st birthday party - only 6 days to go - and only 10 days until she is official ONE! It seems like it was just yesterday when we were on our way to the hospital! This year went so fast - but it was the best year of our lives - hands down!
I'm planning on spending the rest of the week preparing for the party on Saturday. We are looking forward to celebrating Lucy's first year with family and friends. I'm also excited to see how she does with the smash cake - it should be interesting!
Over the past few weeks - it really has set in that we have a little toddler on our hands and not a little baby anymore. She is getting so independent and is starting to really say words and put things together. She is also becoming a pro at mimicking - we've been playing "telephone" with her recently. The phone rings - we say "hello" - and then give it to her and say "it's for you." Obviously, she's picked up on it. (If you you listen closely under my voice she also mumbles a baby version of "for you" when she hands it back to me). I can't get enough of her little voice!
