Officially out of the crib

As most of you know, Lucy is a climber. She can pretty much scale anything she wants. Which is why keeping her in her crib was becoming quite the task. She goes to sleep GREAT - but when she wakes up early (usually earlier than her parents would like - and earlier than she should) she wants out - RIGHT THEN! So we would have to jump up the moment she woke up and run into her room - before she would fall out. We usually caught her half way out - riding the side rail like a horse. What a stinker!

So, last week Saturday (January 8th) we decided to try out the toddler bed. I have to admit it was a little sad, as it made me realize how big she is - I mean the potty and a big girl bed in the same month!

She of course LOVED getting in and out of her bed during the day, so we were quite nervous about how this was going to work out. Thankfully, it has gone pretty well. She goes to sleep with no complaining, and stays in it through the night. However, the first few days she woke up a little earlier than usual (and when this girl wants to wake up she wants out of her room RIGHT THEN!). She is slowly getting used to it - and now sleeps till almost 7 (which is as good as it gets!).

The last few days she has woken up a little early (6:30ish), gotten out of her bed and then laid next to the door. Sometimes she goes to sleep for a little longer and sometimes she just cuddles with all her bears and dolls. We made the mistake of going and getting her the first day, but she actually wasn't really ready to get up so we decided that if she isn't crying she's okay. Marcus thinks we should get a little padded dog bed to put in the corner so she isn't on the floor but obviously she doesn't mind. I'm guessing all her stuffed animals must be pretty comfy!
