2. She is getting more and more vocal. She also has the cutest little voice I've ever heard. It will be fun when she says words, but I am totally in love with her little sounds.
3. She can work her Daddy. We went to Toys R us last week (to get more gates to contain her) and within a matter of 5 minutes (while I was checking out) she was able to convince her Dad that she needed a stuffed monkey. He couldn't say no to her adorable little face and cute laugh every time she showed it to her. Even he said she should start thinking of what kind of car she wants...as he knows she has him wrapped around her little finger.
4. She loves her walker. Just in the last few days she has become obsessed with pushing her little walker. The only problem is, she hasn't mastered the turning thing so she only gets to go from one side of the room to the other.
5. She is into every . single . thing. I know people tell you it is going to happen, but I don't think you realize how it is until it actually happens to you. She looks inside, behind, above, below, on top of, underneath every single thing in our house. Takes every book out off the shelf, every last thing out of the cupboard, picks up every tiny piece of nothing on the floor - you get the idea. She's at a very cute age, but it makes it hard to keep the house picked up.
6. We went to West Palm Beach with the Jacoby family at the end of last month. It was a great time. A little bit of swimming, nice weather, and a visit with some old friends. Lucy and her cousin Maggie also got of time to play together. Boy are those two a handful. They are sure to be the best of friends. Lucy lights up with excitement every time she sees Maggie and Maggie affectionately calls Lucy "Baby Ooocee." I'm glad they have each other.
7. She's hit the dreaded 9 month old "separation anxiety" phase. And although it has made me learn how to do just about anything with one hand, I'm savoring these sweet little moments where she wants her Mommmy. She'll be an independent teenager soon enough.
8. Lucy and I are both ready for winter to be over. We need some fresh air. I bought a used jogging stroller at a sale a few months back - and it needs some use! (Even if I don't jog).
9. I joined a mom group in Peoria last month. I'm really excited about being a part of this group especially as she gets older. There are lots of fun play dates and fun activities for Lucy and even a few Mom events for me! Our first event was a Kid's sing-a-long in Peoria. Lucy loved watching the other little kids and squealed and clapped right along. I think our next event is going to be a Baby Signing class.
10. I've already started planning her birthday party. A little early? Yes. But my time is limited these days...and I have a lot of little things I want to do. If I don't start now, they won't get done! After all - it is her 1st Birthday - it has to be done right!
